Cross Country Runners Advance to Regionals

The Buccaneers participated in the district meet on October 28, 2009, at Wildwood.  The boys placed third as a team and will advance to the regional meet on November 7 in Houston. Leading the way for the boys was Kyle Fenwick who placed 2nd. Other members of the team are Agustin Palomares, German Netro, Kyle Norris, and Alvaro Camacho. Two Lady Bucs also qualified for the regional meet, and they are Otilia Velazquez who placed 5th and Madalyn Bertrand who placed 6th. Other members of the team are Sarah Nelson, Sara Bertrand, Autumn Scott, and Brenda Cardenas.


Cross Country Preparing for District Meet

The Buccaneer Cross Country team attended the Liberty Invitational this past weekend. The varsity boys were led by Kyle Fenwick who placed 13th, and the varsity girls were led by Madalyn Bertrand who also placed 13th. Other varsity members that participated were Kyle Norris and Sara Bertrand. The Junior High had a lot of competition, but still fared well. Junior high boys were led by Justin Yawn, and the girls were led by Breelee LeBlanc. Other participants were Landon Prejean and Trevor Franzen. Next up for the Buccaneer cross country team is district on October 28. Whitney DeYoung is their coach.


Cross Country Continues Season

The Buccaneer Cross Country team had another strong showing this past Saturday in Kountze. Kyle Fenwick led the way for the Bucs placing 6th with a time of 17:43.  Otilia Velazquez led the way for the Lady Bucs with a 14th place finish and a time of 14:23. For the second week in a row, all the students ran their best times for the year.


Cross Country Competes at Tarkington Invitational

The Buccaneer Cross Country teams participated in the Tarkington Longhorn Invitational on Saturday, September 19.  Kyle Fenwick placed 8th in the varsity boys division and was followed by German Netro placing 16th. Sara Bertrand led the varsity girls with a 24th place finish. The junior high boys also had a strong showing and were led by Justin Yawn who placed 10th. All of the runners did a fantastic job and everyone improved their times from the previous meet.


Nederland Meet

The cross country team attended their first meet this past Saturday, September 12, 2009, in Nederland. The students had to run in the rain and through an extremely muddy course. The results are as follows:  Varsity Boys:  Kyle Fenwick (5th); Kyle Norris (14th); Agustin Palomares (15th); German Netro (19th); Alvaro Camacho (20th)  Varsity Girls: Sara Bertrand (15th); Middle School Girls:  Breelee LeBlanc (18th).

Other students that participated were Trey Armentor, Justin Yawn, Landon Prejean, Trevor Franzen, and Brittany Hobson.
