| District Tennis Competition Held |

The district tennis tournament was held April 7, 2009, at Lamar University. The results were as follows: Boys Doubles - Logan Silcox and Jace Silcox 1st Place (advance to regionals); Jesse Rodriguez and Joseph Melancon 3rd Place. Girls Doubles - Kara Rutherford and Shaina LaFluer 4th Place. Mixed Doubles - Sarah Nelson and Zachary Zbranek 1st Place (advance to regionals); Cassie Simon and Luis Soler 2nd Place (advance to regionals).

East Chambers held a freshman/upperclassmen First-Year Playing Tournament on Thursday, March 5, 2009. Schools participating were: Hamshire-Fannett, Trinity, Anahuac and East Chambers. The following students placed: Mixed Doubles: 2nd place-Spencer Glenn/Desire Boyd; First Year Girls Singles: 1st place-Autumn Scott; Freshman Boys Singles: 2nd place-Jared Matlock; First Year Boys Doubles: Johnny Kwok/Alfredo Velasquez. On Friday, March 6, EC attended the Ozen Panther Invitational. The results were as follows: Semifinals: Mixed Doubles Zach Zbranek/Sarah Nelson; Luis Solar/Cassie Simon; Boys B Singles Shantrey Glenn.
On Tuesday, March 17, the freshman
attended the Barbers Hill
Invitational. The following students

On Thursday, February 26, 2009, EC hosted the East Chambers Junior Varsity Tennis Tournament. Participating schools included: East Chambers, Hamshire-Fannett, Sabine Pass, Trinity, and Anahuac. The following students placed: Sarah Nelson 1st Place A Girls Singles; Autumn Scott 1st Place B Girls Singles; Spencer Glenn 2nd Place B Boys Singles; Jon Yawn and John Melancon 2nd Place Boys B Doubles.
