In a considerably less intense atmosphere on Thursday night, the East Chambers 8th grade basketball team moved its season record to 2-0 by defeating Anahuac 57-16. The Bucs apparently used the few extra days of practice to take advantage of the Panthers early, and what an advantage it would be as the Bucs jumped out to a 32-5 half-time lead. It was the Bucs’ defense that would stifle Anahuac to just 2 first quarter points and 3 points in the game’s 2nd period, while the Bucs would tally 57 of their own points to get the second win of the season.

Leading the scoring for the Bucs were Brennan Beckett and Dory Roberts with 10 points, Cody Tillina 9 points, Brandon King and Brandon Johnson with 8 points, Jarrod Guillory 7 points and Desmond Malveaux with 5.
