Citing Electronic Resources
  • The Internet and other digital sources of information are widely used tools for education and research, and they should be cited as well as print media.

  • Why Cite?

Academic Integrity
Credit should be given to sources that you quote from, information and ideas that are not your own,  as well as sources consulted for information and ideas used in your research. In addition to giving credit to the source, it enables other researchers to locate cited items for use in their research.

Avoid Plagiarism
Plagiarism is presenting the work of another person as one’s own work. This can include papers, words, ideas, information, computer code, data, evidence organizing principles, or style of presentation of someone else taken from the internet, books, periodicals, or other sources.
